USLS ISACA In Motion

This Academic Year, 2014-2015, a new organization has risen to join the family of clubs and associations in the University of St. La Salle. The Information Systems Audit and Control Association, now known by its acronym ISACA, was formed with the vision of “connecting students and IT governance professionals”. The organization is comprised of students from different fields of specialization, namely - Accountancy, Management Accounting, Accounting Technology, IT, Computer Science, and Computer Engineering. Miss Amelle Gallespen was given the responsibility to be in charge of ISACA.

The inauguration of the club has already been set in motion as ISACA has begun the necessary activities to finalize its foundation. As of August, there have already been three meetings between the initial members. In the first meeting, the identity of ISACA as an international association was explained to the students and the requirements for its recognition as a local chapter and a part of the international association was discussed. The members were then assigned to come up with the vision, mission, and by-laws of the said organization.

On the second meeting, Miss Amelle Gallespen gave an orientation about ISACA and discussed the requirements given by La Salle for ISACA to become an official organization. Other points of discussion were the contents of the website that was to be put up by ISACA as part of its requirement to be recognized as a member of the international group and the future activities of the club for the current year.. It was also at this time that the officers of the club were elected. Lynzel Gan was chosen as president of ISACA.

Finally, on the third meeting, the club began taking steps to make known its formation as a school club. The layout of the ISACA website was presented to its members and plans were made regarding the recruitment of new club members. The club has also planned to make a video to be presented in the upcoming University Week.
